THERE were some delicious smells in the air when Gisburn Road Children's Centre in Barnoldswick organised a "Ready Steady Cook" contest.
Children were split into teams, with two adults to each team. Each team was then given 75 minutes to plan and cook a main course and a sweet.

Prizes were awarded for the most creative dishes, the most imaginative menus and the best team work.

The team with the most points was also presented with a £30 voucher for Mario's Restaurant in the town.

The competition was one of a series of events the children's centre is running over the summer.
