THERE were farewells and welcomes at the 1st Barnoldswick Boys' Brigade annual awards and display evening at St Andrew's Church.
Farewells were reserved for Jack Thomas and Nathan Smith, both of who had reached the upper age limit of 12. "Both have given a lot to the Company over the past few years," said Capt. Mandy Kirrage.

Looking to the future, she formally welcomed four new boys who had joined recently, each of whom was presented with a medal.

There was also a special presentation of a certificate to volunteer Mr Frank Green, who helps out at weekly meetings. The programme for the evening included a card game, parachute display and Bible readings.

Guests included former captain Mr Nigel Bradley and his wife, Pam, Girls' Brigade Captain Heather Broughton, parents, and Mr Peter Gill, who represented the Rev. Graham Cutler.
