Barnoldswick swimmers win gala title on recount
BARNOLDSWICK CE Primary School has won the West Craven Junior Schools Swimming Gala for the first time.
Pushing St Joseph's into second spot by eight points in an exciting seven-school competition, the 24 York Street swimmers were roared on by their friends to secure 11 first place finishes.
A scoring error first saw St Joseph's presented with the trophy only for a recount to show 16 points had been missed from the true winners' tally as the boys and girls excelled in breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle and relay races.
