A NEW women-only running group has been launched at Pendle Leisure Centre, Colne, by Barnoldswick runner Alison Sugden.
The group is part of the Women's Running Network, a national group to get more women involved in running, whatever their age, size or ability.

"So far we have a mix of runners from Barnoldswick and Colne who get together on a Tuesday or Thursday evening," said Alison. "It can be scary running on your own, especially in the winter, and the group gives women a chance to run with others and have fun at the same time."

The Tuesday session, which starts at 6-30 p.m., is aimed at beginners and the Thursday session, which starts at 6-45 p.m., is for more experienced runners.

"I am looking to start a new beginners group next month and we will be aiming for people to be able to run three miles without stopping at the end of 10 weeks. We start off running and walking the route and then build up each week," said Alison.

People interested in joining can contact Alison on 07981 630745. They can also find out on the Women's Running Network website www.womensrunningnetwork.co.uk
