WEATHER willing, breathtaking hot air balloons, spectacular stunt kites and amazing giant display kites will create a kaleidoscope of colour over Barnoldswick this weekend.

Victory Park is the venue for Pendle's second Festival of Flight, the successor to Balloons Over Barlick. As well as the sight of hot air balloons taking off, this year kite flying activities have been extended with club flying of stunt and display kites.

The highlight of the festival is Saturday's Night Glow, scheduled for around 9 p.m., with a mass launch of hot air balloons due to take place at 6 p.m. Further take-offs are also planned on Saturdays and Sundays between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., although all these activities are dependant on weather conditions.

The stunt kite display team Sky Symphony will provide aerial acrobatics on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Monster display kites will be flown and club flyers will fly all kinds of kites on both days.

There will also be a fun fair at the park as well as hands on kite making and craft workshops. A Field of Light charity challenge will be held to coincide with Saturday's Night Glow.
