BROTHER and sister Ben and Charlotte Edwards are a real sporting pair, both receiving an international call up this year.
Ben (15), a pupil at Fisher More Catholic Humanities College, represented Great Britain in the swimming team at the World Student Games for Catholic schools in Malta.

And his parents, Mick and Mandy Edwards, of Barnoldswick, were thrilled with his three-medal haul from the Games – including a gold in the 400m individual medley race and bronze for the 100m breaststroke and 200m individual medley.

A week later, he competed in the National Youth Championships at Sheffield in the 100m and 200m breaststroke races where he finished in the top 10 nationally for his age group.

Charlotte (17), a student at Nelson and Colne College, has moved from swimming to competing in triathlons and biathlons this year. She finished fourth in the Youth A section of the European Championships for biathle, (run/swim/run) at Salford Quays, Manchester, missing out on a medal by four seconds.

And Charlotte has now been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Championships in Cape Town, South African, in November.

As part of her training, she is looking forward to competing in the Pendle Triathlon on September 14th.

"We are now looking for sponsors to help fund her triathlon and biathle training and the trip to Cape Town," said dad Mick.
