TWO men appeared before Pennine magistrates accused of child sex allegations in the West Craven area.
Bertram Hughes (49) is charged with one count of indecent assault at Barnoldswick between December, 1996 and 1997. He did not enter a plea.

Alan Hughes (44) faces six charges of indecent assault on a girl under 16 and one of gross indecency, said to have taken place in Barnoldswick and Earby between December, 1993 and December, 1998. The defendant did not indicate pleas.

The Bench decided the allegations should be heard at the crown court and the pair were bailed until May 6th for committal proceedings. They were ordered not to contact alleged victims or prosecution witnesses.

Bertram Hughes must live at Salterforth Caravan Site, while Alan Hughes must live at an address in Anglesey. He must also report to the police station every Monday between noon and 2 p.m.
