Dog poo bag decorations adorn trees

NEW for spring – tree decorations in Barnoldswick? That is what a local resident asked this week.
She had been for a walk around the Walmsgate area when she spotted a number of coloured dog poo bags, complete with contents, hanging from trees.

"I counted 10 in total! What are these dog owners doing?" she asked. "Is it a way of saying 'Look, I've picked up my dog's mess. I can hang it here to show you!' Unbelievable.

"I know which parts I'd like to see hanging from the trees – and they don't belong to their dogs!"

This is not a new problem as there were similar complaints from walkers who use the canal towpath last year and anyone caught disposing of dog poo in this way should take note they could face a hefty fine if spotted carrying out this anti-social act.
