Drink driver recieves 20 month ban
A DRIVER who was more than twice the limit has paid the price with a 20-month ban.
Pennine magistrates heard how Kenneth Woods, a professional driver, had walked home from a pub and then made a "very serious error of judgement" and got behind the wheel.
Woods (57), of Avon Drive, Barnoldswick, admitted drink driving. The defendant was fined £150, with a £15 victim surcharge and £35 costs.
The Bench told Woods he ought to have been aware of the drink drive laws. They added there was no evidence of bad driving, but there had been a very serious risk of harm to the public. The court was told the defendant gave a test showing 84 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 35.
