WITH police, fire and ambulance crews parked outside West Craven High Technology College people could be excused for thinking there was a real emergency going on.
In reality all three emergency services were taking part in a "speed awareness" session with pupils.

Anyone caught speeding in a car past the school was flagged down and given a choice of paying a £60 fine and receiving three points on their licence, or spending some time talking over the consequences that can arise from driving too fast with the schoolchildren and representatives of each service.

The session was said to go really well and attracted a lot of interest from pedestrians as well as motorists.
