CAN you play like Brian May, or are you as rock and roll as Dave Grohl?
If so, an Earby music manager wants to hear from you.

Pop guru James Jackman is putting together a modern cover band featuring Salterforth's Gary Dowson as lead singer.

The six-piece band, Real Envy, already has four members but needs a second guitarist and bass player.

Material will be top 20 hits from the last five years, as well as the odd golden oldie, covering everything from the Foo Fighters to Reanna.

James was approached by Gary following interest from local venues wanting the musician to perform after he returned from a successful tour with a support act for Take That. He's also supported Snow Patrol and Jason Donovan.

James (22) said: "We've known each other since primary school but we lost touch until Gary got in contact with me through the internet having heard about my work. We thrashed out ideas and came up with this project. Since Gary came back from Take That, he's had people asking him to do solo stuff but he wanted to front a band."

James has just returned from London after producing the debut album of an Italian band, following a stint as tour manager for ska punk band Spunge.

The band will consist of a vocalist, drummer, three guitarists and a keyboard player, and James hopes to have the band up and running by December, with venues like the Cellar Bar in Barnoldswick and the Punch Bowl in Earby already on board.

Anyone interested in playing bass or lead guitar is asked to contact James on 07748 155188.
