BURGLARIES, car crime and violence in Earby all saw a dramatic fall in June compared to previous months.
Members of Earby Parish Council welcomed the reductions and news that full ASBOs had been imposed on two known offenders, with another two jailed for violent behaviour.

They also highlighted their areas of concern, including complaints about older youths drinking and smoking in the play area near Longroyd Road and speeding cars between Hartley Street to Brook Street.

Coun. Vic Marsh commented that while the town centre was now quiet, thanks to CCTV cameras, several people had complained that youths were causing trouble elsewhere.

PC Dave Clean and PCSO Ailsa Pate, who attended the meeting, said high-visibility patrols were already being carried out to combat this.
