FILM buffs are being sought by West Craven Together to help run a new community cinema.
This will be based at the Rainhall Road Centre in Barnoldswick, which is due to open next summer after an extensive refurbishment.
"Community consultation identified that local people were keen to see a regular, quality cinema in their local area,"
said project manager Hanna Atkinson.
"The Rainhall Road Centre will have amenities for such a facility including retractable seating, a projection room and a refreshment area."
West Craven Together, the organisation managing the building's redevelopment and the future operation of the centre, has been looking into the different ways of running a community cinema, but so far, all the options identified have come from outside the local area.
The group would prefer to tap into all the local talent and energy available in West Craven, however, and this week they invited local people who may be interested in being involved with the cinema plan to come forward. Chairman Dale Frankland said "This is a great opportunity to get involved in an interesting project and West Craven Together will provide people with support throughout the process.
"We are keen to ensure local enthusiasts have an opportunity to get involved and take the project forward."
Anyone who is interested, or would like to find out more about this exciting opportunity, is asked to contact Hanna Atkinson either by telephone on 817536 or by calling into the office at 5 Albert Road, Barnoldswick.
