POLICE and Pendle Council have carried out a check of the Damhead garage site in Barnoldswick after repeated complaints over the condition of the site and the anti-social behaviour there.
PC Brendan Wood said letters had been sent out to owners pointing out problems and asking for them to be remedied.

Police have been keeping an extra watch on the site in recent months since it was listed as one of the Police and Community Together priorities.

It has now been removed from that list, although will still be patrolled regularly.

Other areas added to the list include York Street where residents said they have problems with drunken behaviour as drinkers make their way home; West Craven High Technology College, which suffered a number of break-ins earlier this year, and Monkroyd.

Coun. David Whipp asked for the latter to be included to try to prevent the annual problem of kids doing the "Grand National" and running through everyone's back gardens.
