LATE night drinking on the Waterfalls picnic area in Earby is leading to damage, according to a farmer.
He told West Craven community safety working group he had already repaired a drystone wall by the stile entrance to the waterfalls twice when it was knocked down again.

The stones had been thrown into the nearby beck, along with empty beer bottles.

He asked police at the meeting if it was possible to identify which shop was selling the bottles and to whom.

But PC Carl Nevison said it was possible the alcohol had been legally bought and passed on to teenagers by their parents.

The Waterfalls area is part of the alcohol control zone in Earby and he assured farmer Mr Howard Procter increased patrols put in place under the Police and Community Together initiative would continue during the summer.

Mrs Shirley Oldfield said there were similar problems in Sough Park and it was agreed police would look into the options open to them there to try to reduce nuisance and damage.
