TWO Abba-mad performers from Burnley have returned from Hong Kong after playing a packed charity gig.
Pete Smith, of Rosewood Avenue, and Natalie Brigham, who was brought up in Hapton, make up half of Abba Arrival, an Abba tribute act who have found fame playing all over the world.

The group had been booked to play a regular concert in Hong Kong but after the tragic Chinese earthquake in May, decided to make it a charity show, raising thousands of pounds.

"The show in Hong Kong was already booked when the news of the earthquake came in," said Sarah Cherry, who plays Agnetha. "But knowing we would be in Hong Kong we felt it would be right to dedicate the show to all those people affected."

Show promoters Wolfman Jack decided half of all the ticket sales would go to the disaster fund.

Abba Arrival were flown to Hong Kong for a week of press conferences, photo shoots and television interviews before the performance attended by 5,000 people and many celebrities.

"We met so many East Asian stars it was mad," said Natalie, who plays Frida. "There were pop stars there and the equivalent of Ant and Dec."

Pete, the band's Bjorn, said: "It was an incredible event and we raised thousands for the charity. We were in 10 different daily newspapers and on about seven different TV programmes. We met huge celebrities and we didn't really know who they were. It was really surreal."

The band are now embarking on a set of dates across the UK.
