POLICE seized 55 cannabis plants in a drugs crackdown at a house in Burnley Wood.

Officers in Burnley continued the "Not In My Neighbourhood" campaign by executing a warrant in Parliament Street where they discovered the cannabis.

The warrant was carried out following information received from the community as part of an effort to combat drug-related crime which has seen the complete closure of a property in Reed Street.

PC John Fisher said: "We will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to rid the community of drugs and put those responsible before the courts.
I hope this firm action reassures the local community and encourages more people to come forward."

PC Fisher said work was now under way to trace the owner or landlord of the property.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Burnley police on 08451 253545 or Crimestoppers, free and anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
