Drugs seized in house raid

POLICE seized 55 cannnabis plants in a drugs crackdown at a house in Burnley Wood.
Officers continued the "Not In My Neighbourhood" campaign by executing a warrant at an address in Parliament Street where they discovered the cannabis.
The warrant was carried out by officers on Wednesday afternoon following information received from the community.
It was executed as part of an effort to combat drug-related crime which last week saw the complete closure of an address in Reed Street.
PC John Fisher said: "We will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to rid the community of drugs and put those responsible before the courts.
"I hope this firm action reassures the local community and encourages more people to come forward."
PC Fisher said that work was now under way to trace the owner or landlord of the property. Anyone with any information is urged to contact Burnley police on 08451 253545 or Crimestoppers, free and anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
