Jail threat for radio presenter on porn charges
A FORMER local radio broadcaster due for sentencing for taking indecent photos at an East Lancashire secondary school has had his case put back until later in the month.
But the judge warned David Blaxhall, a founder member of local station 2BR, he could still face a prison sentence.
The case was adjourned at the request of his barrister to allow the probation service time to assess his suitability for a community sex offenders' programme.
Blaxhall (42), of Longridge Heath, Brierfield, has admitted four offences of taking indecent photos of a girl and three other offences of making indecent photos.
The case was put back until July 22nd and Blaxhall was further remanded on bail.
Judge Anthony Russell said the serious aspect of the case was the "gross breach of trust". Blaxhall was a man of previous good character.
The judge told him he should not regard the fact the case was being adjourned as an indication of what the sentence would be.
"All sentencing options will be available to the court, which include immediate custody if in the end I think that is an appropriate way of dealing with these offences," he said.
