PLANS for the much-anticipated Todmorden Curve are going in the right direction.
Burnley MP Mrs Kitty Ussher met with Lord Adonis, the new Minister for trains, to discuss the proposals, which would see a fast train link to Manchester created.

Lord Adonis told Mrs Ussher funding for the project was not yet secured, but if Lancashire County Council took a stronger lead in negotiations there would be a good chance of the development going ahead in future.

Mrs Ussher said: "I felt this was a really positive meeting, and I am just as passionate as ever about making this project a success. I believe a fast train link to Manchester is essential for Burnley's future prosperity, and will continue to campaign hard for it to happen.

"I am pleased to report I am going to be speaking to the new chief executive of Lancashire County Council to see what he can do to help."
