Teen thrown off bus for playing loud music
A TEENAGE boy was taken off a bus by undercover police for playing "excessively loud music".
Three buses were stopped by police in Padiham Road, Burnley, as part of the Gateway scheme – a joint police and Lancashire County Council operation to curb anti-social behaviour on public transport.
Sgt Phil Hutchinson said: "I am pleased to say that of the three spot checks we carried out, only one passenger was causing disruption. He was taken off the bus and told to apologise to the driver who explained why his actions could distract him while driving.
"Police officers and Lancashire County Council staff travel on public transport and alert roadside police if there are any problems on the bus.
"The 15-year-old boy was playing excessively loud music and generally messing about. He was very apologetic and the vast majority of passengers were extremely well-behaved."
