BURNLEY await their first league win of the season after a goal-less draw with Plymouth.
A drab affair that failed to ignite saw the Clarets have the better of the chances, but fail to find the net for the second league match running.

However, manager Owen Coyle can take heart from gaining their third successive clean sheet.

On-loan striker Paul Gallagher came closest for the Pilgrims in first half injury time, curling an effort just wide, while Joey Gudjonsson saw his late free kick tipped over by Graham Stack.

CLOCKWATCH

26 mins: Chris McCann takes the ball down on his chest before cracking a left foot volley which Graham Stack can only palm away, only for the ball to fall kindly for Plymouth allowing the defence to clear.

30 mins: Martin Paterson's angled drive is deflected just over for a corner, with the resulting set piece coming to nothing for the Clarets.

35 mins: Martin Paterson fails to connect properly with Graham Alexander's cleverly chipped free kick, when a clean strike would surely have resulted in the openig goal.

36 mins: Steven Caldwell comes close again with a header, with the ball going just wide from Chris Eagles' free kick.

45 mins +1: With the last kick of the first half, Jason Puncheon gets to the by-line before pulling the ball back for Paul Gallagher, with his curling shot flashing just wide, with Brian Jensen stranded.
