THE Clarets have made their first Premier League signing with the capture of pacey full-back Tyrone Mears.
The former Derby and Preston North End defender has signed a three-year contract with Owen Coyle's side for a fee in the region of £500,000 plus add ons.

Mears, who has also enjoyed spells with Manchester City and West Ham, spent last season on loan at French club Marseille. He has twice been sold for fees of £1m.

Meanwhile, Burnley have also agreed a club record fee for 22-year-old Hibs striker Steven Fletcher and have entered into negotiations this afternoon (Tuesday).

More to follow.
