CLARETS striker Alex MacDonald has received a debut call-up to the Scottish Under 19 squad later this week.
The 18-year-old will link up with the Scots for their international challenge match against Holland in the GVVV Stadium, Veenendaal, on Friday (kick-off 6 p.m.).
MacDonald, who was born in Chester and qualifies for Scotland through his Glasgow-born father, has already spent a day in a training camp with Billy Stark's Under 19s.
And the teenager admits he is pinching himself as his debut season as a professional contiues to get better: "I am absolutely ecstatic. The game is on Friday and I just can't wait.
"My father is a proud Glaswegian and it has always been in the back of my mind that I would choose Scotland over England.
"I still can't believe it's happened so soon though and I just want to go there, hopefully be involved and do my family and the club proud."
The call-up caps a memorable few months for MacDonald, who made his first team debut last April and was then named as the club's Youth Player of the Year.
MacDonald then scored his first senior goal for the Clarets in the pre-season friendly at St Johnstone in July.
