BURNLEY have been linked with a move for Newcastle defender David Edgar.
The 22-year-old is reportedly close to a move, having held talks with fellow promoted side Birmingham City.
Edgar is believed to be disappointed with the terms on offer at St James's Park, after discussions over a new contract, and looks set to leave following relegation to the Championship.
Edgar is primarily a centre back, but has been preferred at right back, and has made 13 appearances for the club.
He will, however, start the season with a suspension after being sent off in the Toon's final game against Aston Villa.
