TWO late goals gave Burnley their first win of pre-season on Wednesday morning against Minnesota Thunder.
Chris McCann headed home Alan Mahon's corner 11 minutes from time to put the Clarets in front.
And unlike five days earlier against Cary Railhawks, it was a position they never yielded, with Jay Rodriguez sealing the win in the latter stages.
Norwegian Christian Kalvenes was handed his debut, while Kevin McDonald and Martin Paterson both made their first starts for their new club.
A bright start at the National Sports Centre in Blaine saw Robbie Blake cause problems, with Wade Elliott flashing as fierce drive over.
Brian Jensen had to be alert to parry Ricardo Sanchez's free kick, while at the other end, Paterson fired wide from a tight angle after bursting through the Thunder defence.
Tempers flared just after the restart, with Elliott booked, as Burnley once again began to fade in the heat.
The hosts thought they had taken the lead when Jensen produced a superb point blank save to deny Kevin Taylor from a corner.
But from their own corner four minutes later, McCann rose highest to head home Mahon's cross.
Substitute Stephen de Roux blasted into the side netting for Minnesota, before Jay Rodriguez doubled Burnley's lead when tapping home from close range after good work from Alex MacDonald.
Burnley: Brian Jensen, Graham Alexander (Stephen Jordan 61), Clarke Carlisle (Michael Duff 61), Steven Caldwell, Christian Kalvenes (Adam Kay 78), Chris McCann, Kevin McDonald (Alex MacDonald 83), Joey Gudjonsson (Alan Mahon 61), Wade Elliott (Steve Jones 61), Robbie Blake (Ade Akinbiyi 67), Martin Paterson (Jay Rodriguez 78).
