A COLNE restaurant has announced its first winner of a competition launched this month.
14-year-old Brandon Kowalski picked up a £20 voucher for HMV after the owners of Cactus Bob's Tex Mex selected his placemat design as the best out of more than 50 entries.

Brandon, who goes to Settle College and lives in Hellifield, North Yorkshire, had to colour in and add captions to the Mexican-themed place mat to be in with a chance of winning.

He has family who live in Colne and visits the restaurant regularly.

He plans to spend the money on a CD of his favourite band, Oasis.

His picture will be the first to be displayed in a gallery at the Albert Road outlet. The competition will continue to run monthly for youngsters up to the age of 14.
