Celebrations at Colne building society
A SMALL team of workers enjoyed big celebrations at a Colne building society.
Out of six staff members at the Britannia Building Society in Albert Road, three had landmark birthdays and one retired after 24 years - all within 10 days of each other.
"This is most unusual for such a small team," said Mrs Pat Wrathman, who celebrated her 60th birthday and retirement. "We decorated the office and handed out refreshments to customers as part of the celebrations."
Amanda Wetherall marked her 40th birthday, and Karen Wilkinson was 50.
Mrs Wrathman said: "It all made for an excellent send off. I made some really good friends who I will really miss."
