A TEENAGE sex pest who exposes himself or commits indecent acts after following women has been bailed by magistrates after striking a third time in a year.
Shane Whittaker, said to have performed sex acts in front of his recent victims, is already subject to two court orders for repeatedly flashing.

The defendant, whose latest offences were in Colne centre and Alkincoats Park early on July 25th, admitted two counts of outraging public decency.

The defendant (19), of Talbot Street, Colne, had his case adjourned until August 22nd for reports by the Pennine Bench.

Mr Stephen Parker (prosecuting) said just after 7 a.m., a victim was walking to work through the town centre when she saw a young man wearing jeans which were too big. He appeared nervous and kept looking backwards towards her.

As the woman walked towards Skipton Road the man appeared again, watched her for a while and then walked off. But as she passed the Co-op, the man appeared behind her, passed her and kept looking backwards before he stopped near a church. In a recess, he held up his shirt and committed a sex act.

Mr Parker said, at 8-25 a.m., the second victim was in the park when she spotted a man with his hands down his pants. He kept walking, but looked backwards towards her. He walked down a path but when she looked round he was committing a sex act in the bushes some 5ft. to 6ft. from her. The woman ran to a nearby garden and told an older man what had happened.

The prosecutor said last August 30th, Whittaker was given a community order with two years supervision after admitting exposure allegations. He had asked for three offences to be considered.

On October 19th, the defendant appeared before Skipton magistrates and was given a two-year conditional discharge after being convicted of two allegations of exposure.

Mr Glen Smith (defending) said Whittaker had taken the brave step of admitting he had a problem, which meant he could be treated.
