POLICE stormed into a Colne pub with drugs dogs and arrested a 21-year-old man from the town.
In an organised raid, officers turned up at the Derby Arms on Friday evening to find a number of people in possession of cannabis.

One man was arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs, having been found with a number of cannabis wraps and a rucksack containing weighing scales and cash.

He has been released on police bail pending further investigations.

PC Mark Walker, of Colne police, said: "Last Friday's operation was a big success and well supported by Colne's licensees, whose support we would like to continue receiving.

"These searches offer reassurance to the licensees and allow us to identify problem areas, while reducing the amount of alcohol and drug-fuelled violence in the town."

Police hope to continue the success of this operation during the Rhythm and Blues Festival in Colne this Bank Holiday weekend.

Officers will again be out in the town with drugs dogs to stamp out any illegal activity in the pubs.
