FOULRIDGE summer fun day saw a good turn out of people enjoy entertainment on the village green.
Officially opened by Mrs Ruth Sutton of Weston EU, assisted by Parish Council chairman Chris Hobson, the day got underway with a performance form Park High School Band. Children's entertainment from a clown and displays by Sanderson dancers followed.

There was a climbing wall, go-karts and a living jungle mobile zoo from Blackpool too, which had birds, reptiles, amphibians and small mammals on display. There were local craft and produce stalls, as well as displays from the police and fire service.

Fun day group member Janet Willson, who with fellow organisers Liz Dickinson, Hazel Nicholson and Mark Gleeson arranged the day, said: "If there is anything left from the bills it will be going on the upkeep of Foulridge Village Hall and the newly-formed youth group organised by PC Mark Whitehead.

"We'd just like to say a big thank you to all who donated, whether it be money or raffle prizes. As well as to the volunteers who set up Friday, ran the stalls on Saturday and then helped clean up afterwards. We sincerely want to thank them for helping us stage the day."

Thanks go to Weston EU and Pendle Polymer for the use of their car parks, and the parish council for the use of the hall and green. Over 30 raffle prizes were donated, including day trips out to places like Blackpool Tower and Camelot, but the main prize was a bed donated by Silentnight.
