Man burnt in chip pan blaze

A MAN sustained burns to his hands in a chip pan fire in a Colne house in the early hours of this morning.
Fire-fighters were called to the property in Seldon Street just before 1-15 a.m. to discover the flames had badly damaged the pan and left the ground floor with smoke damage.

Two fire engines rushed o the scene and fire-fighters had to use breathing apparatus to tackle the flames. They used a ventilation unit to help clear the moke.
