A 58-YEAR-OLD man has appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court accused of causing a crash in which a four-year-old girl and her grandfather, from Colne, died.
Ian Shennan, of Elgin, was accused of causing death by dangerous driving on the A9 near Crubbenmore on July 19th.

Shennan made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination. He was released on bail.

Paul Anderson (48) and Samantha Carr (4), of Langroyd Road, were travelling with Paul's wife Melanie and Samantha's sister Emma (3) in a Hyundai Santa Fe towing a caravan when the incident happened.

They were on their way to Mr Anderson's niece's funeral in Gairloch, Scotland. Vicky Anderson (27), who lived in Colne as a child, had been killed during a four-car pile-up on the M6 two weeks previous to this incident.
