A TOP name in football management helped boost the funds of Colne United FC.

The club held a sportsmen's dinner and there was a question-and-answer session with Manchester United's assistant manager, Pendle man Mike Phelan.

The event was attended by 100 people and they were treated to a fantastic night.

Mr Phelan went down a storm and BBC TV sports presenter Tony Livesey was also present as a guest. The comedy was provided by Keighley comedian Mike Farrell and a three-course meal was had courtesy of Diane's Catering.

The event took place at Colne Cricket Club on Friday.
