PLANS to convert an old Cotton Tree mill into flats and build 31 associated houses has been given the green light by councillors.
LBS Group, which operates LBS Horticulture Ltd from Standroyd Mill, has also been given approval to demolish a weaving shed and a single storey office.
The consent allows for 31 two and three-storey houses to be built on Cotton Tree Lane, and the four-storey mill transformed into eight flats and six townhouses
The mill, built in 1876, is currently used for the sale and distribution of garden products, but a spokesman for the company declined to discuss what the future plans are for LBS Horticulture if the works proceed.
The plan is a re-sumbitted application at the council's request for more traditional looking properties.
