THE long-serving Colne Book Shop is to close as owner Mrs Dorothy Nelson makes plans to retire and sell the building.
But there is good news for bookworms - a new book shop is already in the pipeline in the former computer store Intelligent Marketing. The shop is being managed by Joanne Watson, who worked for Mrs Nelson at the current shop.

The new venture is to open on August 2nd. Once established, Joanne plans to mirror the services offered currently, including the ability for customers to order books from overseas.

She wants to build close links with the community, organising story-telling and reading groups for young children and a poetry club.
