Park High School 50th anniversary
RELEASING hundreds of balloons completed an emotional and celebratory weekend for a Colne school.
Hundreds of ex-pupils and teachers travelled from as far away as France to Park High School to mark its 50th anniversary. Five teachers from the original staff members also attended, with the oldest now being 91.
Deputy headteacher Mrs Marie Kinnear said: "Everyone had a brilliant time and it was very well attended. The photos and memorabilia brought a lot of memories back for people and it was quite an emotional time for many."
Each pupil attached a name tag to the balloons as part of a competition. The name tag returned from the furthest destination will see its owner awarded £50 and the sender £25.
