PLANS to change an empty retail shop in Colne into a hot food takeaway have been submitted to Pendle Council.

The applicant, Mr N. Ahmed, has applied to change Foto-Fast in Market Street - the shop was the office of this newspaper for many years until the 1980s - into a takeaway with the first and second floor used for storage and staff. He has also asked to install a fire door and an extraction flue vent to the rear of the property.

Planning officers using delegated powers will make a decision on the plans unless objections are made or the council decides to have the application heard at a meeting of the Colne and District Committee.
