TRAFFIC calming plans for the Venables Avenue area of Colne will be high on the agenda at tomorrow's meeting of Lancashire Local (Pendle).
Lancashire County Council's draft budget will also be discussed, along with parking restrictions in Oxford Road, Nelson, due to the Pendle Vale Campus development.

The aim of Lancashire Locals is to provide a way for local councillors to influence decisions, ensuring any changes to service are made in the best interests of each community. The Pendle committee's powers include budget and priority setting for highways, road safety schemes, waste services, library and museum opening hours, youth and community services and issuing local grants.

Chairman County Coun. Shelagh Derwent said: "Lancashire Locals give people the chance to see decisions which affect them being made on their doorstep by the councillors who represent, and know, their local area."

The Lancashire Local (Pendle) committee is formed by equal numbers of councillors from Lancashire County Council and Pendle Council.
Residents are welcome to attend the meeting at Barrowford Civic Centre, Maud Street, at 6-30 p.m. Copies of the agenda are available at www.lancashire.gov.uk Reference copies are also available in local libraries, the district council and county information centres.
