A WOMAN was taken to Airedale Hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation after a fire at a house in Monkroyd Road, Laneshaw Bridge, on Saturday afternoon.

The fire involved a kitchen appliance and caused light heat and smoke damage to three ground floor rooms and light smoke damage to four first floor rooms.

Two crews from Colne Fire Station attended and used two sets of breathing apparatus and a hose reel to deal with the incident.
