Pendle councillor for Vivary Bridge, Ian Tweedie, is pleased he has helped secure funding to brighten up Vivary Way and Hyde Park areas of the ward.

Coun. Tweedie said: “This part of Colne has become rather neglected of late.

“With the funding secured, we should be able to brighten up this area with some landscaping and flower beds.

“The shrubbery at Hyde Park has already been cut back and I’m looking forward to seeing the improvements to the gardens on Vivary Way in the spring.

“There will also be some power cleaning at the bottom of Lancaster Street which was declared a ‘heritage street’ some years ago.”

The work will be undertaken by Pendle’s Environmental Action Group.
