A SPEED survey is set to take place in Skelton Street, Colne, after concerns were raised by local residents.

The issue was taken up by Coun. Neil Butterworth, who represents Horsfield, and the situation is now being assessed by Lancashire County Council.

Coun. Butterworth said “If the results of the survey highlight a speeding issue, the County Council will work with the police to carry out targeted enforcement.

“Community Road Watch may also be considered if problems continue.

“I will be keeping up pressure on behalf of local residents.”

In areas of concern Lancashire County Council are also looking to deploy Speed Indicator Devices, commonly known as Smiley Face Speed Signs in order to positively reinforce driving at 20mph in residential areas.
