Nelson Post Office to close for upgrade

editorial image

NELSON’S main post office is to receive an upgrade.

The move, which is part of Government plans to modernise the Post Office nationally, will see the office closed between March 6th and March 19th.

The changes to be introduced include a new queuing system and seating as well as earlier opening on Monday morning and later closing on Saturday.

This news follows significant improvements at another Pendle post office in December. Customers at Trawden Post Office have benefited from significantly longer opening hours seven days a week, following improvements late last year.

Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson said: “This is great news for residents in Nelson who will benefit from longer Post Office opening times. I have met the sub-post master, Mr Vali, on a number of occasions and know he is keen to continually improve the services he offers to his customers.
