Time to make your nominations for Pendle Community Volunteer Awards

THIS year’s Mayor of Pendle’s Community Volunteer Awards will be hosted by Mayor of Pendle Coun. Nadeem Ahmed.

The awards are centred around the people of Pendle who work actively in their community, and strive to give recognition to groups and individuals who have excelled in their area.

The Mayor said: “It is an honour to host this year’s community volunteer awards ceremony, which I am really looking forward to. It’s very important we give credit to our dedicated volunteers in Pendle who work relentlessly for their cause, whom without, Pendle would not be the place it is”.

The award categories are:

Young Achiever of the Year.

Young Volunteer of the Year.

Disabled Achiever of the Year.

Community Organisation of the Year.

Community Building of the Year.

Environment project of the Year.

Voluntary Children’s Group of the Year.

Volunteer Children’s worker of the Year.

Migrant Worker of the Year.

Volunteer of the Year.

Leader of the Year.

Lifetime Achievement Award.

Chairman of Pendle Community Network John Beck said: “We are so very proud to be holding our fifth Mayor of Pendle’s Community Volunteer Awards this year and at a time when our communities are under threat during the economic crisis, it is even more important we celebrate the differences volunteers and community activists make across all areas of our lives.”

If you know a person or organisation whose work or achievements, within the community, deserves recognition, nominate them for an award.
