Trawden turbine proposals rejected by councillors
PENDLE Council’s Colne and District Committee have rejected proposals for a 5kw wind turbine in Trawden.
The application site was an agricultural field located within open countryside and Trawden Forest Conservation Area, 100m to the east of the farmhouse at Parson Lee Farm.
The plans proposed the erection of a turbine with a hub height of 15m and an overall height of 17.8m.
Plans to erect a two storey extension at a Colne care home have also been rejected by Pendle Council.
The application proposed to create 13 additional en-suite bedrooms at Sycamore Rise Residential Care Home, in Hill Lane.
Reasons for refusal were the fact that the application site lies within an area designated as part of the Pendle Green Belt, and that the proposed development would have a detrimental effect on protected trees.
Plans have recently been submitted to Pendle Council to erect an orangery style conservatory to the rear of a Colne property.
It is also hoped to convert a garage into a bedroom at the home in Keighley Road.
Proposals are scheduled for determination by council officers using delegated powers.
