The Burnley branch of HSBC temporarily closed this afternoon after a member of staff self-isolated with an unconfirmed case of Covid-19.

The bank in Manchester Road informed customers with a notice in its window today stating that it was temporarily closed as a precuationary measure, but would re-open as soon as possible.

A HSBC UK spokesman told the Burnley Express: “As a precautionary measure we have a staff member at the Burnley branch who has self-isolated and we are deep-cleaning the premises.

"Customers can continue to use our mobile, online, video and telephone banking services.”
