A Burnley food service company has warmed a few charitable cockles by donating an oven to a local charity in need.

Birchall Foodservice, based on Burnley Bridge Business Park, presented the industrial oven worth £500 to the Pyramid Self Help Group, Lancashire’s leading mental health and well-being group.

The oven will be used to provide lunch three days a week to adults with mental health issues.

Pyramid Chairman, Glen Back, said: “We serve around 60 hot meals every week, which would be impossible without this oven.”

Justin Birchall, Birchall Foodservice managing director, added: “We have close links with a number of charities and are more than happy to help. Pyramid provides a vital lifeline to vulnerable people in our community.”
