Pupils at Gisburn Road Primary School in Barnoldswick went back in time when they re-enacted a Roman battle during an interactive history day.

As part of their studies about the Romans, the class of Year 3 pupils thoroughly enjoyed the fun, active and educational day with Roman soldier, Ben Clarke, from Roman Tours of Cheshire.

The children learned about what life would have been like back in Roman Britain and dressed up in various costumes from the Roman period.

This included wearing full Roman soldier attire, and to get further into the spirit of the day, the children then re-enacted a Roman battle which took place in the school playground.
