THE result from the club match held on Lowerhouse Lodge last Thursday evening was: 1, J. Smith (80-6-0); 2, D. Elliot (65-9-0); 3, A. Harrison (49-1-0).

Fishing on the lodge has been very good of late.

Just ask D. Allen as he landed the biggest carp this year so far, weighing in at a nice 25lb 2oz.

This was weighed with two anglers witnessing it.

Steve Cookson has hit a rich vein as he was also taking plenty of decent sized carp plus the odd big bream.

Foulridge is still producing a few nice bream carp and roach also.

If you set out for the carp on Rowley Lake and put 8mm fishmeal pellets on your hook, you will also pick up the nice bream and tench, that are in there.

Don’t forget next Wednesday will be the 15th, and the rivers will be open to fishing again.

The River Ribble is always worth a go on the first day as all the fish have rested and will be ready to feed, so some bumper bags are on the cards, and if you have a good netful, let me know and I will report on it.
