Barnoldswick finds fame in New Zealand

If West Craven wasn’t world famous before, it is now thanks to a Kiwi living in Barnoldswick.
Peter Lincoln (53), from New Zealand, lives in Hardy Avenue in the town after moving here from Down Under in 2010.
He was contacted by his 5th cousin, Karen Lisle, after she began tracing her family tree on the internet. Peter visited, and the pair soon struck up a relationship.
On a recent trip back to his hometown Palmerston North in the country’s North Island, Peter posed for a picture with a copy of the Barnoldswick and Earby Times.
He said: “I just had a copy in my bag with me. My friend’s mum is in her 80s and not on the internet and wanted to read about news on the other side of the world.
“Barnoldswick’s a good, small rural town. The weather doesn’t do a lot for me though. I’ve just come back from two weeks of 30-degree heat and sunshine.”
